Chula Vista Night Walk

Went out for a nighttime walk with the Tapias through some neighborhood streets of Chula Vista. No photos, but 2.5 miles worth of calories burned on this trip.

Viewing Brenda’s Museum

Had a video chat with a very tired Brenda to show her the Museum of Me video she could create with her own Facebook account.

Museum of Me

Through the latest This Week In Tech podcast I learned of the Museum of Me website from Intel. I let it connect with my Facebook account and it created a stunning video with music of my Facebook data using my friends, my photos, my links and even my most used words. Really well done. Since there was no way to download or save the video (only post some images to Facebook) I used the screen recording app Snapz Pro to capture and save the video.

Ready To Fly

After a few days away I came back home to find not two Phoebe chicks like I originally thought, but four. Three of them were still in the nest chattering away seemingly ready to fly at any moment and one sitting on the fence below the nest, still being fed by mom. I was able to quickly take some pretty bad shots while mom was always nearby keeping a keen eye on me.

UPDATE 06-09-11: All the chicks have flown the coop.

Miracle Peeing Wall

A leak in one of the Tapias’ backyard brick walls created an interesting photo op, thanks to Sylvia’s creative water-painting.

Another New Trail With The Tapias

Walked about two miles on a trail in South Bay with Sylvia, Rodrigo and the doggies. This trail was just south of the 54 and just north of the KOA campgrounds. Passed some colorfully tagged freeway support columns.  Walked towards Plaza Bonita and back.

House Of VS Day Five: Scales, Fur And An Interloper

Mr. Fisher, Theo, Gordon and a welcome intruder whom I call Halle because she’s brown, pretty and played Catwoman. Eight eyes, four tails, twelve paws, four fins and one human observer ironically with no fins, tails or paws.

Border Outlets

Drove with the Tapias down to the Las Americas Premium Outlets by the Mexico border. Stopped at a couple of shoe stores, the Disney Store to talk to an old friend and finally at Starbucks. Then picked up some great, cheap Mexican food at Colima’s to eat while we watched “The Empire Strikes Back.” Just another typical Sunday.

Lunch Visit

My mom brought down some food she made and we had lunch in the backyard where I am house-sitting. Also including a couple more random shots of Gordon.

House Of VS Day Four: Cat POV

Decided to present how Gordon and Theo see the world.

Walk Along Coronado Homes

Went for a three-mile evening walk with the Tapias in Coronado. First we walked along the shoreline but then we moved into the residential areas to check out some of the expensive, beautiful homes.

X-Men: First Class

Went to see X-Men: First Class with the Tapias. Overall a pretty good and entertaining movie but for me there were a few moments that seemed to drag on a bit. The evolution of, and relationship between, the Professor Xavier and Derek (Magneto) characters I thought was handled very well. Loved the two surprise cameos but was disappointed that there wasn’t any surprise after the credits. The big action scenes were very well done and the special effects were of course flawless. There also seemed to be a lot of attractive women in skivvies in this movie. Those parts didn’t drag.

House Of VS Day Three: Lauren’s Watching

No matter where I go, she’s watching me.

Walk Along Old SeaWorld Drive

The Tapias picked me up so we could go walking along Old SeaWorld Drive and out to the Marina jetty. By far the weirdest, if not creepiest, moment was toward the end of the jetty when we walked passed at least thirty feral cats of all colors, all staring at us and not making a sound. Stopped and picked up some Phil’s BBQ on the way home.
