We had a vigorous knock at our front door today with no one there when we opened it. Our neighbors were in the street walking feverishly with cell phones trying to find the eight cats they said got out through a window that was left open. Soon afterwards they came back and said they found five of them hiding in the house. I drove around the neighborhood streets, asking people outside their homes if they’d seen three stray black cats. The answer was always no. Then I started to walk the neighborhood because driving around in the car was too fast to check each house’s yard. Finally the neighbors came back and told me that all eight were accounted for and had been hiding in the house the whole time.

Galapagos Tortoise Exhibit Grand Re-Opening – Post #200
Spent the morning at the San Diego Zoo with Heather for the grand re-opening of the Galapagos Tortoise exhibit. Got to pet and feed a couple of the tortoises. Also talked to Rick Shwartz who will be in charge of the Tweet-up on Saturday. Also got to pet a Ball Python. Ran into Steve Ristaino twice, once in the morning and once just as I was getting ready to leave.

Relocation Of Two Monarch Larvae
Betty’s side yard garden.
New home for the juvenile larva.
Our juvenile larva on the left fit in very quickly.
New home for the tiny baby larva.
The baby larva didn’t waste any time and started chomping on the small flowers at the top.
Transferred our last two Monarch larvae across the street to Betty’s house since our milkweeds had no more leaves for them to eat.

Mami’s Follow-up Blood Clot Ultrasound

Took my mom to her follow-up ultrasound appointment at Thornton Hospital to check on the blood clot she was diagnosed with a few months ago. She came away with the assurance that her jugular is clot-free.
