First Night Back With Neighbor Mammals

Began another round of house/dog/cat sitting for the neighbors while they are out of town for Easter weekend. My duty will end Sunday afternoon.

Back To The Butterflies

Spent a few hours at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park with the Holden family. Went to walk around in general, but to see the Butterfly Jungle exhibit in particular. Bought me a bright yellow SpongeBob t-shirt first. Butterflies loved it.

Tina And Jewel

Tina and Jewel, two Asian elephants that were rescued in Texas and temporarily brought to the San Diego Zoo, have since moved up the road to the L.A. Zoo. Here’s a really cute video of them playing in a waterfall at their new home.

Fun Learning Game

Played an online game developed for the San Diego Zoo Safari Park. Impressed at how much effort went into making this game interactive and fun. Plus it just looks really good.

Beautiful Hooded Oriole

While shooting photos of a family of seven squirrels in the backyard today, this amazingly colorful bird landed on one of our plumeria plants. After searching online to try and identify it, I finally found a site that helped me identify it as a male Hooded Oriole.

She Noticed Me Again!

A couple of days ago I added some of my posted photos into the MostlyPhoto group on Flickr and today the group’s admin Lisa Bettany (of Mostly Lisa) commented (however briefly) on two of my shots (photo 1 / photo 2). The really bizarre coincidence part is that she commented while I was watching her video podcast.

Walk At Seaport Village

Met Sylvia down at Seaport Village on this cloudy day and we had a nice walk with the dogs. Even stopped for a couple of cookies.

Posterous Part Two

Finally added a second post to my Posterous site. Boy, was it a delight to work on this one.

NASSCO Ship Launch

Went down to Tidelands Park on Coronado to meet Sylvia and Rodrigo for dinner and watch the USNS William McLean‘s launch with fireworks from the NASSCO shipyards.

Tangled Soundtrack Is Finally Mine

Purchased the Tangled soundtrack from iTunes instead of Amazon because of the higher sound quality and the digital songbook which turned out to be pretty cool.

First Ever Tweet-Up At The Safari Park

Went to the San Diego Zoo Safari Park with my mom for their first ever Tweet-up. Today’s theme was Butterfly Jungle. I bought a nice purple Looney Toons t-shirt with nine colorful character faces yesterday just for this occasion. My mom wore an old yellow shirt with my nephew’s picture on it. She had at least a dozen butterflies land on her. I had none. I knew I should have bought the bright yellow SpongeBob t-shirt instead.

60th Spotting

Added my 60th Foodspotting post today!

Seaport Village Lunch

Met up with Christina and her mom for lunch and a walkabout at Seaport Village after a particularly good oncology follow-up visit for Christina.

Me And Six At The Zoo

Spent most of the day back again at the San Diego Zoo, this time with six females. I didn’t stand a chance.

Questionable Advertising

Bizarre way to advertise an attraction. Makes you just want to rush out and visit.
