Three more butterflies emerged today. Two were nice and healthy but unfortunately one was underdeveloped so badly that I don’t think it will last more than a day or two at the most.

Bad Truck Accident on Southbound 5
A gravel truck blew out a tire, lost control and flipped over, spilling it’s load onto the I-5 freeway. All lanes were stopped for a while with only one lane eventually reopened for about two hours before the gravel was cleaned up and the truck towed away. Traffic was backed up all the way to Del Mar.

Another Four Butterfly Day
Took pictures of four more Monarch Butterflies emerging from their chrysalises. That’s two straight days with four butterflies coming out. At one point I had two clinging to my left hand as I took pictures with my right. Looks like tomorrow will be a third straight day with four more going to emerge. That will leave only one more to go, probably on Wednesday which is Comic Con Preview Night.

Dinner and a Sleepover at the Tapias
Drove down to Chula Vista to have dinner with Tapias and spend the night to avoid a loud party in our neighborhood with drunken underage high school students that will undoubtedly end with the police showing up.

Working On Brenda’s Birthday Book

Mami’s MRI Appointment
Took Mami to her scheduled MRI this morning at Thornton. Definitely one of the prettiest hospitals around. Palm trees (fake unfortunately) in the lobby, player piano in the main waiting area.
