BBQ Sandwiches At San Elijo With The Tapias, Mary and Diana

Rode up with Mary and Diana to meet Rodrigo, Sylvia, Stitch and Lilo at the San Elijo State Park campground. We had barbecued pulled pork sandwiches with coleslaw for dinner and then walked to VG’s Donuts for dessert. We watched an amazing sun set over the Pacific.

Drove from Phoenix to San Diego

After a pretty decent breakfast, we left the Holiday Inn Express in Goodyear and, stopping in Gila Bend, Arizona to walk around, drove back home to San Diego.

Leaving Los Alamos and Heading Toward Phoenix

Left Los Alamos this morning and stopped in Holbrook, Arizona to check out the Wigwam Hotel. Stopped for the night in the Phoenix suburb of Goodyear, where we met up with Kate and her daughter Jazmine for dinner at Cracker Barrel.

Farmer’s Market, Pajarito, Albuquerque Airport and Michael Cai’s Birthday

Started the day at the Farmer’s Market in Los Alamos, then drove up Pajarito Mountain to get an overview of Los Alamos, then drove Kimi to the Albuquerque Airport for her flight and finally drove back for Michael Cai’s birthday.

Meet-up with Stephanie and Visiting the Science Museum

Met Stephanie at Starbucks with Alex and Kimi and then took Kimi to the Bradbury Science Museum.

LANL, Bandelier Grill, Science Museum and Toy Story 3D

Went into LANL for my first time ever so Kimi could have her drug test before she starts her apprenticeship on Monday, had lunch with my mom, Tommy, Kimi, Alex and Nadine in White Rock at the Bandelier Grill, meandered around downtown with Kimi to various spots including the Bradbury Science Museum and went to …

Picked up Kimi at the Airport in Albuquerque

Drove from Los Alamos down to Albuquerque to pick up my niece Kimi from the airport. Picked up un-cooked pizzas from Papa Murphy’s for dinner.

Arriving in Los Alamos, NM for a Birthday Party

Left Holbrook, AZ at 8:00, crossed in to New Mexico and arrived in Los Alamos at 2:00, in time for my brother’s 50th birthday party.

Another Adventure to New Mexico

After picking up a rental car yesterday (a Kia Optima…nice car), my mom and I left this morning headed for New Mexico. We overnighted in Holbrook, Arizona with stops along the way for gas and stretching.  We ate dinner at Mr. Mestas in Holbrook.

Old Town, Coronado and Seaport Village

A very full last day for Kate and Jasmine. We walked around Old Town and had lunch at Coyote Café before driving across the bridge to the Ferry Landing in Coronado to walk around. Then we went back to Seaport Village to walk around and watched the the USS Ronald Reagan leave port.

New Mexico or Bust!

Animals are rounded up, horses are drafted and chomping at the bit, wagons are no longer circled, our Conestoga is packed to the canvas crest, our guides are at our sides looking east and we’re heading out on the long trail.  Adios, San Diego.  See you soon.  See you sooner, New Mexico.  Art exhibit, here …
