Video Tour By Brenda

Had a long-overdue video chat with Brenda that ended up lasting just over two hours. With her laptop camera she took me on a tour of all the Christmas decorations she put up inside her house in Austin. Brenda takes decorating very seriously and each year does an amazing job with it. I also got …

Day Two Of Tapia Christmas Decorating

The second day of helping the Tapias decorate the outside of their house for Christmas crucially began with a delicious scrambled eggs and bacon breakfast, after which Sylvia got busy with drawing, cutting out, painting and decorating some larger candy-canes and gingerbread men to place at the front of the house. Rodrigo meanwhile was himself …

In The Christmas Spirit

The interesting portion of my day, which was spent helping Sylvia decorate the outside of their house for Christmas, began with her and I going to Michael’s to pick up a few minor crafty necessities, then quickly chowing down a bean burrito (actually, not an innuendo), climbing ladders and walking on her roof to install …

Moving Day For A Stranger

Went up to Orange County with my friends  Mary and Sylvia to help Mary’s uncle move some of his belongings down here to San Diego. The day consisted of us driving up to Cypress, stopping first at a Starbucks to refuel ourselves before any heavy lifting, then stopping at a motorcycle shop/U-Haul rental business to …

Cats Again – Day Four

Fourth and final full day of cat-sitting for the neighbors. Today the focus was mainly on action shots with a few portraits thrown in. Slowly I’m getting to know what to expect and when with the cats. And slowly they are getting used to me shoving a camera into their personal spaces. But alas, tomorrow …

Cats Again – Day Three

Third day of watching the neighbors’ cats. All eight of them. All black. All large. All skittish. All rights reserved.

Cats Again – Day Two

Second full day of cat-sitting for the neighbors. Not much to share other than it started on a cloudy morning with the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on TV, which I didn’t even watch, and ended with a night version of the morning shot.

Cats Again – Day One

First full day of cat-sitting for the neighbors once again. Pretty sunrise, a dead whale on the TV, cats everywhere…the usual stuff.

A Birthday, A Wreath, A Movie, Couple Of Dogs, A Meal, A Sunset And A Coffee

Went to visit the Tapias today for Sylvia’s Xty Xth birthday. She was busy creating a couple of amazing wreaths made out of dyed corn husks while we watched her favorite Christmas movie, “Elf.” I watched the movie while petting both Lilo and Stitch’s tummies. Never was reciprocated. After a delicious home-made meal and the …

Birthday Lunch, Tapia Style

Had lunch with the Tapias at Pei Wei Asian Diner in Mission Valley today to celebrate Rodrigo’s birthday. Like my previous visit I had the Caramel Chicken which was a bit spicier than last time, but so delicious nonetheless. After lunch we walked two eateries down to the Corner Bakery Café to pick up some …

Tasty Start To My Day

Best way to begin your day is to have a delicious, home-made breakfast with some friends.

Combo And The Final Potter

Picked up some great Mexican food from Colimas in Chula Vista and then watched Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part Two at the Tapias’ house to finish off the wizarding series. I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. Thought they did a fantastic job and I’m very sorry there will be no more installments.

Dana Has A Point

Traveled up to Dana Point with the Tapias to get some burgers and amazingly tasty fried zucchini from A’s Burgers. After lunch we walked along the beach watching surfers handle massive two-foot breakers. Drove back on the 101 so we could enjoy the small towns lining the coast. ( a d v e n t …

Pei Wei Lunch With Lannie

Had a really nice Chinese lunch with Lannie at Pei Wei in Mission Valley. Wanted to try something new so I ordered the Caramel Chicken, which had a little bite to it but was really flavorful and I would order it again. Lannie and I ended up sitting and catching up for almost two hours, …

Dinner Mexicano Style

After walking around and taking some night shots in Old Town, I had a fantastic Mexican dinner in with my friend, Barbara, and her friend, Kim. We ate at Casa de Reyes in the Fiesta de Reyes area. I ordered the shredded beef taco and pork tamale combo plate and it was excellent. Food and decor-wise it …
