Birthday Lunch, Tapia Style

Had lunch with the Tapias at Pei Wei Asian Diner in Mission Valley today to celebrate Rodrigo’s birthday. Like my previous visit I had the Caramel Chicken which was a bit spicier than last time, but so delicious nonetheless. After lunch we walked two eateries down to the Corner Bakery Café to pick up some …

Tasty Start To My Day

Best way to begin your day is to have a delicious, home-made breakfast with some friends.

Combo And The Final Potter

Picked up some great Mexican food from Colimas in Chula Vista and then watched Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part Two at the Tapias’ house to finish off the wizarding series. I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. Thought they did a fantastic job and I’m very sorry there will be no more installments.

Dana Has A Point

Traveled up to Dana Point with the Tapias to get some burgers and amazingly tasty fried zucchini from A’s Burgers. After lunch we walked along the beach watching surfers handle massive two-foot breakers. Drove back on the 101 so we could enjoy the small towns lining the coast. ( a d v e n t …

Google+ Branding

Created a Google+ Brand Page for my website for when I become rich and famous and have groupies and fan clubs and stalkers. Female ones, hopefully this time.

The Kittens Are Now Cats

Went over to my older brother’s house with my mom for a quick dinner with just the three of us and then stayed for a bit afterwards to play with his ever-growing kittens/cats. Those felines went from sleeping to stretching to pouncing, jumping and scurrying in about a minute.

Festival Of Flight Tweet-up

Even though it rained a bit, I had a great time at today’s San Diego Zoo tweet-up during their Festival of Flight celebration. We got to feed loud and finicky Flamingoes and were presented with a Speckled Owl (which we got to pet) and a very blue Macaw (which we were not allowed to get …

I Just Can’t Stop – Now With Audio

Signed up for an Audioboo account which basically is like twitter for audio. I’m excited about this because it’s different, a lot more personal than written words and could be a lot of fun. I can record and send short audio messages, post them on other social media sites, embed them on my too many …

Festival Of Flight

Took my mom to the San Diego Zoo this morning on the first day of it’s now annual Festival of Flight days. This year, along with the usual bird displays and presentations, the Zoo incorporated the military’s version of flight into it’s displays, including the Centennial of Naval Aviation and volunteers from the USS Midway. …

Somebody Please Stop Me

Created yet another blog, this time through tumblr, to showcase only my favorite wildlife photos. This will act as a one-stop viewing site for those photos without any distracting text (other than descriptive captions) or links. (Beata, there will eventually be some spider photos added.)

Pei Wei Lunch With Lannie

Had a really nice Chinese lunch with Lannie at Pei Wei in Mission Valley. Wanted to try something new so I ordered the Caramel Chicken, which had a little bite to it but was really flavorful and I would order it again. Lannie and I ended up sitting and catching up for almost two hours, …

Funani And Adhama Have Been Chosen

One of my personal favorite photos from the San Diego Zoo was chosen to be added to a photo website in England called SLR-Lens which has a blogpost showing what they consider to be the best wildlife photos of 2011. My photo is of Funani, a female River Hippo, next to her recently born son, Adhama, …
