Medical Morning

Took Alex first to his orthodontist for some braces adjustments and then to the clinic to get his wrist x-rayed to see if he fractured it in a fall yesterday. Doesn’t look like he did.

Leg Two

Second day of travel, this time heading to our first destination stay in Los Alamos. Crossed into New Mexico just before 11:00 local time, stopping in Gallup for gas and bladder evacuation. (Did you want to say something, Lisa?) Arrived in Albuquerque at 1:00 and drove north for about an hour to see Alex play …

So It Begins

Headed out this morning for the first leg of my two and a half week trip to New Mexico and Texas. We hit Arizona at 12:30, stopping in Yuma for a pee break. Stopped again in a 100˚ Gila Bend to fill up and another pee stop. Passed through Phoenix and Flagstaff before finally arriving …

ISS Flyover, Part the Third

Was able to remember about tonight’s ISS flyover (thanks to the Tapias) and prepare for a much better long-exposure capture as it passed by the moon.

Seeing Brenda Form Her Words

Had a nice pre-trip video chat with Brenda this evening. We talked about her old dogs, her family and my extra nipples.

Hertz Hurts

Picked up our Mazda 6 rental car for our trip. They charge way too much for this. Nothing else to say.

Out To Sea The World

Spent a few hours at SeaWorld San Diego, first on my own, then with Mary and her daughter Diana. A large section towards the back was completely closed off to the public because they started construction on the new Manta roller coaster. (pics…)

Ron’s Visit

After catching up with my buddy Ron at the airport (he’s a pilot for American and arrived this afternoon), I picked him up from the Harbor Sheraton, took him to Coronado for dinner at Lil’ Piggy’s BBQ (had a groupon voucher), and then walked along the Old Ferry Landing before taking him back. We reminisced …

Tourist In My Own Town

Spent a couple of hours this afternoon walking along the Embarcadero here in San Diego before meeting up with my high school buddy Ron. Went from the County Admin building down to Seaport Village and back, stopping at a few places to capture some images, empty my bladder (yes, Lisa, more pee) and remove a …

Space Station Sighting

Got a shot of the International Space Station as it passed over the Northern sky here in San Diego. Once I could find it I was only able to get about a twenty second exposure before it faded away. Still, pretty cool, seeing something floating in space while standing on Earth.

My Tweetiversary

Today is my third year anniversary of being on Twitter.

Good Riddance, OBL

Great news about Bin Laden’s death at the hands of US Special Forces. America really needs this right now. Watched the live streaming announcement on the White House’s website. Team America: World Police does it again!

Her Noticing Me Is Becoming Infrequently Regular

Lisa Bettany commented on two more of my Flickr photos: a Disneyland Castle shot and an Inner Space Caverns photo. True, her comments aren’t exactly about the quality of my photos, but being noticed is still nice.

Dog Walk Around Fiesta Island

Walked around Fiesta Island in Mission Bay with the entire Tapia family, including Lilo and Stitch, on an absolutely gorgeous San Diego day. Followed it up with a good Mexican lunch at a recently opened Roberto’s Taco Shop.
