My brother, Ozzie, made and invited us to dinner tonight. He made his own version of Hungarian Gulyás (meat stew) with dumplings which turned out tasting pretty good.

Zoo Day With Niece And Nephew

Had a good day as tour guide for my nephew, Stephen, his girlfriend, Jeri, and my niece, Kimi, at the San Diego Zoo. While quite a few animals were asleep or hiding, we still got to see most of the Zoo and had a pretty good lunch there as well. ( p i c s …

Din-Din At Oz’s

On the way home from Comic Con we stopped at my brother’s house for dinner. Had fun talking with everyone but didn’t stay too late since I was exhausted.

Family Dinner, Care Of Stephen & Jeri

Had a fun family dinner over at my brother Ozzie’s house. The entire meal was prepared by my nephew Stephen and his girlfriend Jeri. We had hamburgers, hot dogs, french fries, potato salad, beans and a salad. Some had root beer floats for dessert. Enzo was crazy as ever.

Unbaked Cheesecake

My mom made a strawberry cheesecake from a recipe she got from my cousin in Hungary. There is no baking and it uses vanilla wafer cookies. If it’s good it’ll end up on my recipe blog. (You have a recipe blog? Why, yes I do. Thanks for asking. Will link to it soon.)

Las Conchas Fire: Day Five

Didn’t spend quite as much time checking updates today since most of the fire has now burned passed Los Alamos. Still kept an eye on Twitter, watched one news conference and some live streaming video. I was again in regular contact with my brother and nephew though, feeding them information they didn’t have access to. …

I watched two live press conferences, a live townhall meeting and live streaming video from a guy who refused to evacuate and drove around Los Alamos to show people what was happening in the city. All that and following …

The quickly growing Las Conchas Fire that ignited this afternoon southwest of Los Alamos has burned into the city causing my brother and his family along with many of his friends to evacuate and seek shelter outside of Santa Fe for the night. I was giving him regular updates from Twitter and elsewhere online. It’s …

This Day In My History

Had a really enjoyable breakfast this morning with my mom, my sister and my niece. I was there to represent the testosterone camp. I had some wonderfully delicious Swedish Crepes with lingonberries.

Zoo Day With Kimi (Post #800!)

Spent a few fun-filled hours at the world famous San Diego Zoo today with my favorite niece, Kimi. Took bunches of photos of her with various animals (even petting a few) and had a really awful lunch. We both strongly felt like we were going to see somebody famous there and we amazingly ended up …

Our San Diego family got together and had a “surprise” Father’s Day dinner for my brother Ozzie. The surprise part didn’t turn out, but the dinner was excellent.
