It was really foggy this morning and once the sun started coming out it left everything damp and moist including a couple of magnificently large orb-weaving spider webs. What was completely unexpected to me was the refracted purple and green colors inside some of the drops. There are no spiders in these shots.

Pleasing The Larvae

Since all of our milkweed plants had been completely gleaned of juicy, milk-filled leaves by the few remaining Monarch larvae we have, we bought a few more plants to get them bulked up enough for their upcoming pupation phase. They appeared very grateful.

In Zoro Garden

Enjoyed walking around with my mom inside Zoro Garden in Balboa Park. The sunken garden has been there since the 1935 California-Pacific International Exposition but was rededicated in 2007 as a Butterfly Garden. ( f l o r a   p i c s )

Another Adventure to New Mexico

After picking up a rental car yesterday (a Kia Optima…nice car), my mom and I left this morning headed for New Mexico. We overnighted in Holbrook, Arizona with stops along the way for gas and stretching.  We ate dinner at Mr. Mestas in Holbrook.

Roses and Larvae

Worked on photos I took of my mom’s roses and of some tiny, freshly-hatched Monarch Butterfly larvae that I had to transport from a plumeria plant to a milkweed.

Red Daisy

Still had time today to crank this one out.

Hibiscus

Possible new flower series I’m thinking of working on.
