Supermoon For 600

My 600th blogpost. We had a Supermoon tonight, which is a full or new moon that coincides with a close approach by the Moon to the Earth. I tried to get some photos but the cloudy night wasn’t cooperating. During one rare break in the clouds, this is the best I could get with a little help …

Good Mail Day

Received two really cool things in the mail today; my new Disneyland Annual Pass, which I hope to use more often than the last one, and my printed Helldiver book which turned out beautifully. The pages are almost too glossy and too thick but the photos are so rich and sharp.

An Unexpected House Guest

I noticed (actually stepped in, barefoot) some unfamiliar poop in the entryway of our house this afternoon. I knew it wasn’t mine and instantly recognized it as lizard scat from the white tip on one end. The size told me right away that this was no ordinary reptile. It was, in fact, alligator lizard caca. …

Asian Radiation

Apparently we are to be visited today by some very-diluted radiation from one of Japan’s dying nuclear reactors.

Magic And Neuroscience

Fascinating Scientific American segment on neuroscientists studying a magician’s misdirection and slight of hand.

Another Attempt At Witnessing A Giraffe Birth

Spent the day at the San Diego Zoo with Mary and Diana. Was hoping to see the baby giraffe being born since the mom is two weeks overdue. Didn’t happen, but I did see the week-old baby Capybara, the first baby born at Elephant Odyssey. Also watched  a baby Nubian Gazelle being bottle fed.

Extreme Bipolarism

Since nothing of great import happened to me today, I give you “terrified baby laughing.”

Our New Barrier Is Up

San Diego Fence came by at 7:30 this morning and two guys replaced our old, decrepit wooden fence with another cheap, wooden one within just a couple of hours. At least it’s new and will stand for a few years.

Last Visit Day For The Onellions

Quick tourist drive around Coronado before stopping for lunch at the Old Ferry Landing and then dropping them off at the airport for their flight back to Hawaii via Los Angeles.

Birdie No More

Our pet Hummingbird up and left us for greener pastures without so much as a “thanks for all fish.”

Full Day At SeaWorld With The Onellions

Spent the entire day out at SeaWorld with the Onellions, the family visiting from Hawaii. My mom was there for most of it as well.

Baby Hummingbird Not A Baby Any More

At three and a half weeks, our Hummingbird chick is getting very close to flying around.

Full Day At The Zoo With The Onellions

Spent the entire day at the San Diego Zoo with the Onellions who are visiting from Hawaii.

First Time At Casa De Reyes For Dinner

Took my mom and the Onellions over to Casa de Reyes in Old Town for dinner. Great food and great waitress.  She sounded exactly like Sofia Vergara. Cute, too.

The Onellions Are Here, The Onellions Are Here!

Picked up the Onellion family who are visiting from Hawaii for a few days. Brought them back home and after a rest we sat down for lunch.
