Finally got to see the stitches that my mom has on her hand from her surgery last week. The purple color is just markings the surgeon made to guide where the zig-zag incision was going to be.

Returned to the Helldiver with Rodrigo
Went back in the morning to Otay Lakes with Rodrigo so he could see the Helldiver that was brought up from the lake the day before.

California Root Borer Beetle
Found another giant beetle (dead) in our neighbor’s backyard and after cleaning all the ants off of it brought it back home to photograph. It’s a male California Root Borer or California Prionus.

Mami’s Successful Hand Surgery
Today my mom had minor hand surgery at UCSD Medical Center here in San Diego. The procedure went very well. She was in and out of the hospital in four hours, from registration to pre-op to surgery to post-op and finally walking out to the car.

Dinner For Schmucks
Went to see “Dinner For Schmucks” with Tommy and Alex. One hilarious movie, but the ten minutes of advertisements before even the trailers was really irritating.
