Attended my second, hour-long, GoToMeeting<\/a> online webinar within in a week, this one by SAVE THE FROGS!<\/a> founder and director, Dr. Kerry Kriger<\/a>, who was joined by San Diego Zoo<\/a> biologist and research technician, Frank Santana<\/a>, to discuss his work raising and releasing the critically endangered Mountain Yellow-Legged Frogs<\/a> into the San Jacinto mountains of Southern California.<\/p>\n

It was a very informative and educational look into all the incredible work being done by the Zoo’s Institute for Conservation Research<\/a> to help save these amazing little, garlic-smelling amphibians, including their\u00a0Janthinobacterium lividum, or J.liv, inoculations against the devastating chytrid fungus<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Yet another reason I’m a proud, card-carrying member of the San Diego Zoo.<\/p>\n
