{"id":14179,"date":"2013-05-24T19:25:12","date_gmt":"2013-05-25T03:25:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.pacsworlds.com\/blogs\/?p=14179"},"modified":"2013-05-24T19:25:12","modified_gmt":"2013-05-25T03:25:12","slug":"new-google-maps","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pacsworlds.com\/blogs\/2013\/05\/24\/new-google-maps\/","title":{"rendered":"New Google Maps"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I finally got welcomed into the new Google Maps a couple of days ago, but I didn&#8217;t get a chance to check it out until this evening.<\/p>\n<p>First impression: pretty darn cool.<\/p>\n<p>The maps are more detailed (even in the simple map view), getting info about stuff just by clicking on a street is amazing, there&#8217;s a carousel of images from interesting places within the map viewing area, the map updates as you click on certain locations, there are street view previews when you click on a street location, you can favorite locations, it will update traffic info in real time&#8230;it&#8217;s become a ton more useful and interactive.<\/p>\n<p>The cool new 3D is not available yet, but once that rolls out it will be even more awesome.<\/p>\n<p>This Apple fanboy is pretty excited by all the stuff Google is putting out or working on.
