{"id":11078,"date":"2012-01-20T15:44:59","date_gmt":"2012-01-20T23:44:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.pacsworlds.com\/blogs\/?p=11078"},"modified":"2012-01-20T15:44:59","modified_gmt":"2012-01-20T23:44:59","slug":"seaport-by-the-bay","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pacsworlds.com\/blogs\/2012\/01\/20\/seaport-by-the-bay\/","title":{"rendered":"Seaport By The Bay"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>For my final weekday-long hometown tourist adventure I took my mom down to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.seaportvillage.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Seaport Village<\/a> and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sandiegocoastlife.com\/communities\/san-diego-bay\/communities-downtown-embarcadero.html\" target=\"_blank\">Embarcadero<\/a> by the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thebigbay.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">San Diego Bay<\/a> to walk around a bit on yet another perfect, sunny, SoCal kind of a day. We spent some time out at the end of the large concrete pier before stopping to watch a crew of fishermen offload some giant, beheaded swordfish and take them into a processing building. From there we walked over to the south side of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.midway.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">USS Midway<\/a> where I took some pictures of a group of sailors under the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.portofsandiego.org\/public-art\/view-the-art-directory\/940-unconditional-surrender-by-seward-j-johnson.html\" target=\"_blank\">&#8220;Unconditional Surrender&#8221;<\/a> statue. Also spent time at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.portofsandiego.org\/public-art\/view-the-art-directory\/778-bob-hope-tribute-by-eugene-daub-a-steven-whyte.html\" target=\"_blank\">Bob Hope memorial<\/a> before going into <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thefishmarket.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">The Fish Market<\/a> to buy some fresh rainbow trout for my mom and some thresher shark for me to bring home and make for dinner tonight.<\/p>\n<p><em>( e m b a r c a d e r o \u00a0 p i c s )<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>For my final weekday-long hometown tourist adventure I took my mom down to Seaport Village and the Embarcadero by the San Diego Bay to walk around a bit on yet another perfect, sunny, SoCal kind of a day.
